Imbeleko, is a ritual for a young child, that marks the proper burial of the cord. This is done in a
place that is considered sacred. It is a place where one communicates
with the ancestors and the spiritual world. The goat is slaughtered and its gall
bladder's liquid is squeezed out to make a ring for the young child (see fig 2) This ritual is believed
to be associated with the spiritual and supernatural, as seen on (fig 1) a young mother with her firstborn who is wearing a ring made out of a goats gall bladder and a Xhosa bling bracelet. I decided to manufacture
a bracelet that incorporates Amaso beads associated with spiritual and supernatural for the young child (see fig 3), The child intimate contact between him
and the beads becomes a constant reminder of his protection.
